Laurence has been a baker for 10 years, working 11 hours a day. Laurence is requesting a loan from World Vision for the purpose of expanding her business through purchasing more flour. This is not her first loan. Laurence has faithfully paid back loans, and she has been given even larger ones.
By receiving this loan, Laurence hopes to increase profits. Through these profits, she will be able to pay school fees for her children and provide more food for them. Through accessing this new loan, Laurence has hope for the future and is excited about the three jobs that her business will create.
Laurence Mukeshimana is 43 years old, married, and has six children between ages 18 and 3, one of which is a World Vision sponsored child. In addition to all of her children, she takes care of two orphans. Laurence and her family live in a small house built by tree trunks and covered in cement. She is very proud of her house.
